With the 2016 Ford Focus RS being The hot hatch of the moment, it's only normal for the Blue Oval's manic compact to get tons of attention from the aftermarket side of the industry.

Nevertheless, British tuner Mountune has us confused. That's because the developer has recently commissioned the rendering above.

Coming from digital artist Jonsibal, the pixel rearrangement shows the third-generation Focus RS wearing a widebody kit.

One thing is certain here: Mountune will offer us its bespoke incarnation of the RS. And that's because the tuner offered a comprehensive program for the previous generation of the hot hatchback.

Up front, the square, massive wheel arches seem to remind us of the time when Ford took part in DTM. However, the rear arches bring us back to contemporary times - notice how the add-on look of the elements resembles the JDM trend that has seen companies such as Liberty Walk spreading their reach far beyond expectations.

As for the color, the yellow hue might determine some to think of Renault Sport-massaged hatches, but we have to keep an open mind here.

Despite the front-wheel-drive nature of the Mk II Focus RS, Mountune took things to 375 hp and the result was one of the best tuner cars of its era.

With Ford having seriously upped the ante on all fronts for the new Focus RS, we're on our toes here waiting to see what the British aftermarket specialist is cooking.

While Mountune may have asked for this pixel play for motivational purposes, we're certain that at least the tech side of their work will be wild enough to sit way ahead of the standard vehicle.

P.S.: Those of you who are not yet convinced when it comes to the dynamic abilities of the 2016 Focus RS should check out this mega-comparison, which pits the insane Ford against the... entire hot hatch realm
